Description antique vestment. Chasuble, fiddleback style. 19th century.

Very ornate and in beautiful antique condition. The lavish fabric is silk brocade large scale floral, possibly pomegranate and bittersweet. Cardinal red with cream adn soft green. It has a dimensional luminous quality to it. The front, or fiddleback has a panel of magenta brocade with metallic embroidered wheat and roses.

The back of the chasuble has traditional ihs. The cross is created with cardinal red brocade.

It is embroidered wiht silver bullion thread. The ihs is couched. The entire chasuble is trimmed around the edge in bullion trim. The entire piece is accented or trimmed ni yards of buillon trim. Lined ni cotton. Double linen underlining to give it is stiff shape. Condition sold as found. Very good to excellent antique condition. It presents beautifully, is sturdy and completely functional as found. Some wear ot brocades.

A small amount of the couched threads are loose. Some ligth soiling. Mostly at shoulders. We have pictured defects worth noting.
